TheBatteries (Poland / Belarus)

Thin-film solid-state batteries (TFB) provide the best consumer characteristics which rechargeable batteries ever have had. There are plenty of innovative materials for TFB production nowadays, and we are not going to invent our own material (which are affordable). The technologies for TFB production are also known, but still are too expensive for wide commercial use. The actual state of technological equipment restrains the further cheapening of the technologies applied. We offer a new type of in-line vacuum process equipment, which is patented to our name and will enable the cheapest way to apply the best materials to get a great product at an affordable price. The Batteries was founded in 2015 by a group of engineers and managers, having over 15 years of experience in designing and manufacturing of thin-film production equipment and manufacturing processes.

Skypull (Switzerland)

Skypull is developing an airborne wind energy system with a ground-based generator. With 95% less material than wind turbines but double their production capacity, it will produce renewable energy at lowest cost… lower than from fossil fuels! The Skypull fully autonomous VTOL aircraft flies like a kite in more powerful winds at higher altitudes, pulling on a tether connected to the generator to generate electricity. A reduced scale prototype is already operational, and further development incorporates scalability of production, to allow acceleration of the buildup of affordable renewable energy for countering climate change.

Nebula Networks (Poland)

Nevertheless cryptocurrency face some hurdles on the way to mainstream adoption. One of the bigger problems is the perceived lack of intrinsic value. There is no state with its institutions nor any asset that makes a cryptocurrency its legal tender. Cryptocurrencies that keep the promise of decentralization don’t have any backing in gold or any other assets except for brand recognition. This is not just a theoretical problem. The prices of cryptocurrencies are very volatile which while good for speculation is one of the factors preventing mainstream adoption. We believe these problems have a common solution. Welcome to Nebula Network.

EcoBean (Poland)

Billions of coffees are drunk around the world every day. Coffee production hardly meets growing demand of countless coffee lovers. As a result, we are all facing a new global challenge – a growing coffee waste production. Most of the spent coffee grounds (SCG) are wasted and end up in the landfill with other general waste causing high methane and carbon dioxide emissions and significantly polluting the environment.

At Eco Bean we believe that waste is the energy of the future, which is why jointly with Warsaw University of Technology we have developed a unique technology enabling us to produce coffee briquettes from spent coffee grounds. The technology is scalable, cost-effective and will soon be ready for commercialization. Coffee briquettes are suitable for stoves and grills, they also burn longer and generate more energy than the wood once. On top of that, they are 100% recycled and eco-friendly.
