Meet our speaker - George Jackowski
Dr. Jackowski, a perpetual biotech entrepreneur serves as a director and managing partner of TransAtlantic Biotechnologies. He has been instrumental in the founding and successful building of over 30 biotech companies over his thirty-year plus career in the Healthcare/Biotech Sector. Furthermore, he has taken several of them to the Public Markets in the US (NASDAQ and OTC) and Canada (TSX and CSE). He is responsible for the creation of thousands of high tech jobs in the hard to fund biotech sector during his career. He has grown companies to market caps of over $ 500 million USD, raised
from the public capital markets $100’s of million USD and completed licensing deals with Big Pharma of over $100 millions USD in transactions. Dr. Jackowski holds over 180 US Patents filed and issued and has been intimately involved in, creating intellectual property portfolios, the enforcement of patent claims, patent litigation, and patent interference proceedings. Dr. Jackowski, a respected cardiovascular biochemist, was trained at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of San Francisco, California and at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Toronto. Dr. Jackowski held academic positions at the University of Toronto in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology and the Department of Surgery, The Research Institute Hospital for Sick Children and at the Florida Atlantic University, the Centre for Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
